Football All-Access: Scout Team Duty
November 14, 2015 | Football
Being on the football scout team doesn't carry much glory. Heck you don't even get to wear your own number in practice, instead doning the jersey of somebody from the opposition. But that doesn't mean the scout team isn't important. In fact, not only is it important, it's vital.
So who are the scouts? Well, they're mostly younger players still working their way up the ranks of college football. Instead of practicing to play for Ball State on Saturdays, they practice to help make the guys that will play better. And that's what it's all about -- finding ways to help make the team better. And unless you played as a true freshman, you're almost guaranteed to have taken part.
In this Ball State All-Access feature we go behind the scenes of what it's like to be a member of the scout team and how integral it is to the fabric of college football.
Ball State returns to action on Tuesday night at Ohio. Coverage can be found on ESPN's family of networks on on 104.1 WLBC and 1430 CBS Radio in Indianapolis. Follow the team @BallStateFB for more on social media.
