
Gymnastics Suffers Loss at Western Michigan

Despite scoring a season high team score on the vault, Ball State's gymnastics team suffered a 193.175 to 190.525 loss at Western Michigan in Mid-American Conference action Sunday.
On the vault, Ball State's Brooke Evans and Erin Patchey each tied their career highs to help the Cardinals to a season high 48.725 as a team. Evans tied for first with a 9.825, while Patchey was third with a 9.800.
Brooklyn Schumacher tied for second on the bars with a 9.750, while Samantha Santos was third on the beam with a 9.70 and Angie Hosbach was fourth with a season high 9.675.
Ball State's team total on the bars was a 47.550, while the Cardinals tallied a 46.475 on the beam.
On the floor, Denasiha Christian tied for second with a 9.825 to help the team to a 47.775.
Ball State fell to 2-7 overall and 0-4 in the MAC, while the Broncos improved to 1-3 on the season and 1-3 in league action.
