Football: Coordinator's Corner (Army Week)
October 01, 2014 | Football
Ball State football's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Joey Lynch discusses Saturday's Army game with Joel Godett in this week's Coordinator's Corner.
Army's defense is coached by former Ball State Defensive Coordinator Jay Bateman. The veteran defensive mind left the Cardinals following last season to join Army's new head coach Jeff Monken. It's the second time Bateman was wooed from Pete Lembo's staff by Monken, the Army leader previously having tried to lure him to Georgia Southern from Elon.
Lynch discusses what it'll be like to face a Bateman defense and his thoughts on Army's players, particularly its strong defensive backs. He also diagnoses his offense's early season successes and struggles.
The Cardinals will play at Army in a 12pm game Saturday, broadcast on the Ball State Radio Network (104.1 WLBC) and televised nationally on the CBS Sports Network.
