
Men's Tennis Loses 5-2 To Cleveland State

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team dropped to 2-1 on the season after suffering a 5-2 setback to Cleveland State Sunday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
The Cardinals started the match off with a 1-0 advantage after winning the doubles point. Ray Leonard and Patrick Elliott took down Ali Shabib and Joe VanMeter 6-4 at the No. 1 position. Lucas Andersen and Austin Smith also won at No. 2 doubles after beating Nolan Marks and Matt Kuelker, 6-3.
In singles action, Cleveland State managed to take five of the six from Ball State. The lone Cardinal to win was Elliott who defeated Jorg Van Der Vioet, 5-6 (7-4), 6-2, 10-7.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues spring action when it travels to Big Ten foe Michigan State Saturday, Feb. 1. First Serve is at 12 p.m.
