Gilbert Set To Rejoin Canadian Senior National Team

MUNCIE, Ind. - - For the second consecutive summer, Ball State softball senior outfielder Jennifer Gilbert (McKinney, Texas/McKinney) has been selected to the Team Canada Senior Women's National Team Roster.
Gilbert, who was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is a five-year member of the Canadian National Team program. She has played for the 2009 Canadian Women's U16 National Team, the 2010-11 Canadian Junior Women's National Teams and the 2012-13 Canadian Women's Senior National Teams.
In her first season as a member of the senior national team in 2012, Gilbert played in 19 games over three different international competitions. She posted a .192 batting average with 10 hits, 10 runs scored, four RBI and three walks. She belted her first home run at the senior national level in the US World Cup of Softball VII versus Brazil (July 1).
Gilbert will begin her second tour on the Canadian Senior Women's National Team July 11 when Team Canada battles the United States in a 8 p.m. (ET) / 7 p.m. (CT) first pitch in the US World Cup of Softball VIII in Oklahoma City, Okla. The game will be televised live on ESPN.

2013 Senior Women's National Team Roster
(Ottawa, ON) Softball Canada is pleased to announce the list of players who will represent their country as members of the Senior Women's National Team at a pair of events this summer. The athletes below will compete at the US World Cup of Softball VIII from July 11-14 in Oklahoma City, OK and the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship from July 16-22 in Surrey, BC. Additional players may be added to the roster prior to these events. The coaching staff reserves the right to add or remove athletes from this list at any time.
Following these two events, the coaching staff will select a final roster of 17 players to represent Canada at the VIII Women's Pan American Championship, scheduled for August 10-18 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
