SCOUTING BALL STATE: The Cardinals are 15-17 overall and 5-7 in the Mid-American Conference after winning a Saturday game at home vs. Central Michigan 6-1, but suffering losses in the Friday and Sunday contests . . . Ball State will host Indiana Wednesday before travelling to Miami University for a three-game series Friday through Sunday.
SCOUTING INDIANA: The Hoosiers are 26-7 overall and 8-4 in the Big Ten Conference . . . Indiana suffered three losses at Michigan State last weekend in a league series . . . Kyle Schwarber leads the Hoosiers with a .405 batting average in 31 games played.
THE SERIES: Indiana and Ball State will be meeting for the 50th time and the Cardinals hold a 25-24 edge after tallying a 6-5 win at IU last season.
