
Men's Tennis Loses to No. 27 Notre Dame, 5-2

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State Men's Tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 27 Notre Dame Monday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
With loss Ball State has falling to 12-7 on the season while the Fighting Irish improve to 11-7.
The Cardinals got off to a strong start after taking the doubles point from Notre Dame. The Ball State twosome of Dalton Albertin and Cliff Morrison took down Greg Andrews and Spencer Talmadge by a score of 8-6 at No. 1 doubles. At the No. 3 position Patrick Elliott and Austin Sansone pulled of the 8-6 win over Matt Dooley and Ryan Bandy.
Ball State headed into singles play up 1-0 over Notre Dame but lost five matches to the Fighting Irish. The lone Cardinal to win in singles action was Patrick Elliott at the No. 5 spot. Elliott defeated Michael Moore, 7-6 (7-5), 7-5. With the win Elliott is now 14-3 in dual action.
The Ball State men's tennis team hosts Northern Illinois in Mid-American Conference action Saturday at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center. First serve is at 1 p.m.
