
Gymnastics Team Competes at MAC Championships

Ball State's gymnastics team placed seventh out of seven teams at the Mid-American Conference Championships in Dekalb, Ill.
The Cardinals managed a 192.950, while Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan tied for fifth with a 193.150 score. Central Michigan won its third straight MAC Championship with a 195.675 team score.
Julie Cotter won the bars championship with a 9.875 score to become the first Ball State gymnast to win the bars title since 2009.
Nicole Allen placed seventh in the all-around after posting scores of 9.85 on the vault, 9.60 on the bars, 9.45 on the beam, 9.85 on the floor and an all-around score of 38.750. Allen tied for fourth on the vault and tied or fifth on the floor.
Brooklyn Schumacher tied for eighth with a 9.750 on the bars, while Angie Hosbach and Kayla Kmiecik tied for 18th with 9.675 marks. Hosbach also tied for 14th on the floor with a 9.800 mark. Morgan Coslow tied for 19th on the vault with a 9.70 mark.
Ball State managed a 48.325 on the vault, a 48.600 on the bars, a 47.225 on the beam and a 48.800 on the floor.
The Cardinals will find out Monday which individual gymnasts will advance to the NCAA Central Regional.
