Three Gymnasts Recognized on Academic All-MAC Teams

Three Ball State gymnasts -- Nicole Allen, Morgan Coslow and Kayla Kmiecik -- were recognized on the 2011 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Gymnastics Team.
Allen owns a 3.207 grade-point average on Ball State's 4.0 scale as a pre-medicine and biology major. She was named to the All-MAC First Team and was the 2011 MAC Vault Champion and MAC Floor Co-Champion. Allen competed in the NCAA Central Regional in the all-around and placed 19th.
Coslow, a sports administration major, owns a 3.645 GPA. She competed in all 12 meets this season and tied her career high on the vault with a 9.750 at the MAC Championships where she tied for 13th. Coslow tallied a career high 9.375 on the floor at Pittsburgh, and a 9.475 on the beam at Illinois State.
An exercise science major with a 3.338 GPA, Kmiecik competed in eight meets. She managed a career high 9.800 on the bars at Kent State. Kmiecik tied for eighth at the MAC Championships on the beam and tied her career best with a 9.725 mark.
Ball State fourth-year head coach Nadalie Walsh led the Cardinals to a fourth place finish at the MAC Championships, which marked the best placing for the team since the 2007 season. In addition, Ball State posted a 3-3 MAC record, which marked the most league victories since the 2002 season. Ball State managed a team score of 194.500 in a meet at Kent State, which was the 11th best score in school history.
