Cody Elliott Named Second Team All-MAC

Elliott, who is one of the top defensive center fielders in the MAC, was the Cardinals' offensive catalyst on the year as he posted a .325 batting average in 47 games. He led Ball State in hits (64), RBI (38), runs (34), doubles (12), triples (5), slugging percentage (.482) and stolen bases (14). He ranked ninth in the MAC in total bases (95) while posting a team-high 24 multiple-hit games and 11 multiple-RBI contests.
Elliott turned up his play in conference action as he recorded a .364 batting average in 25 league games, which ranked seventh in the MAC. He ranked third in the conference with 39 hits against league foes and was second with 26 RBI.
Buffalo catcher Tom Murphy was named the 2011 MAC Player of the Year while Kent State left-hander Kyle Hallock earned MAC Pitcher of the Year accolades. Kent State head coach Scott Stricklin was league Coach of the Year while Northern Illinois' Jeff Zimmerman picked up Freshman of the Year honors.
