Nicole Allen Named MAC Gymnast of the Week

Nicole Allen, a sophomore member of the Ball State gymnastics team, has been named the Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week, which is selected by the league office.

Allen claimed the individual title in the all-around and on the floor, while posting a second place finish on the bars and a third on the vault in Ball State's 192.625 to 191.075 win at Eastern Michigan.

The victory evened the Cardinals MAC mark at 1-1 on the season.

Allen tied her career high with a 9.875 on the floor and managed a career best 9.725 on the bars. She tallied a 38.700 in the all-around.

It marked the first time in Allen's career she has won the weekly award. Allen won the floor event for the second time this season and the all-around for the first time this year. She has also tied for first on the vault twice this season.

Ball State will return home for a meet vs. Illinois State Friday at 7 p.m. in Irving Gym. Admission to Ball State's home gymnastics meets is free of charge.
