Ashley Jacob Named to Gymnastics Academic All-MAC Team

Ashley Jacob, a senior member of the Ball State women's gymnastics team, was named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, which was selected by the league's faculty athletic representatives.
Jacob owns a 3.679 cumulative grade-point average on Ball State's 4.0 scale as an elementary education/math major.
She competed on the vault vs. Texas Woman's and Illinois State and tallied a season high 9.725. Jacob was Ball State's top performer on the bars at Central Michigan with a 9.725, which was the team's third best vault score of the season. Jacob tallied a career high 9.8 on vault, a career best 9.775 on the bars and a career high 9.425 on the floor in 2009.
A total of 10 student-athletes were named to the team. To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award. Outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments from the current season only are considered.
