Gymnastics Hosting Kentucky in Exhibition Friday
December 03, 2010 | Gymnastics
Ball State's women's gymnastics team is hosting Kentucky Friday at 7 p.m. in an exhibition meet in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
Under the direction of head coach Nadalie Walsh, the 2010 Cardinals tallied six wins, the most for the school since the 2003 season. In addition, Ball State sent three individuals to the NCAA Central Regional last season, marking the first time any gymnast had advanced since the 2003 campaign. With the three qualifiers in 2010, it marked the first time in school history three Ball State gymnasts have advanced to the Regional in back-to-back seasons.
Two of the three NCAA qualifiers from a year ago -- Tiffany Brodbeck and Brittney Emmons -- return to the 2011 squad to lead the Cardinals.
Ball State will open the regular season Feb. 7 at Pittsburgh, and host Central Michigan Feb. 14 in the first home meet of the season.
