"It was a unique opportunity for our team to give back to the Muncie community," said Associate Head Women's Basketball Coach Todd Steelman. "It was in line with our emphasis on serving others. They had great enthusiasm and energy, and it will be a springboard for further community involvement.
Members of the women's basketball coaching staff along with 13 of the women's basketball 14 players were involved in the community service project. The project involved service work at the Muncie Mission, the Boys and Girls Club of Muncie, the Alpha Center, the Youth Opportunity Center, Appletree Child Development Center and the Cardinals were also involved with a Rebuilding Together project near the downtown Muncie area.
