Ball State Head Coach Stan Parrish: Stan Parrish (Heidelberg '69) is in his sixth season at Ball State and his second as the Cardinals head coach . . . He was named the school's 15th head football coach Dec. 18, 2008, and was the head mentor in Ball State's Jan. 6, 2009, GMAC Bowl appearance . . . Parrish became the first Ball State assistant coach promoted to head coach since Wave Myers in 1968 . . . One of five finalists for the 2008 Broyles Award, which goes to the nation's top assistant, Parrish owns a 61-58-3 career head coaching record at Wabash (1978-82), Marshall (1984-85), Kansas State (1986-88) and Ball State . . . - Jack Tomlinson (Westerville, Ohio/South H.S.) caught his first career touchdown pass with 4:44 remaining in the first quarter at Toledo . . . Three minutes later, he tallied his second career TD catch with 1:43 left in the first quarter at UT to give the Cardinals a 17-0 lead.
- Jason Pinkston (Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville H.S.) recorded his third interception of the season and the sixth of his career in the first quarter at Toledo.

The Record: Kent State improved to 3-4 overall and evened its Mid-American Conference record at 2-2 with a 30-6 win at Bowling Green Saturday . . . The Golden Flashes boast league wins over Akron (28-17) and BG, while suffering MAC losses at Miami University (27-21) and at Toledo (34-21).
The Coach: Doug Martin (Kentucky '85) is in his seventh year as the head coach at Kent State and his seventh year as a head collegiate mentor . . . Martin owns a 27-50 career coaching mark, including a 15-29 MAC record.
