Getting To Know BSU's Elaina Kakatolis

Elaina Kakatolis collected career-highs of 308 kills and a 2.43 kills-per-game average as a junior for the Cardinals last season. Kakatolis, who recorded a season-high 16 kills at Northern Illinois (Oct. 10), ranked second on the team last season with double-digit kills in 17 matches. She also posted a career-best .647 attack percentage at Toledo (Oct. 2), with 12 kills on 17 swings with just one error. As a sophomore, Kakatolis smashed a career-high 20 kills in a match versus Texas-Arlington (Sept. 15, 2009).
In high school, Kakatolis earned four letters at Franklin Monroe, helping guide the Jets to a 16-7 record her senior year and a 63-26 mark over her career. She led her team to three sectional runner-up finishes and a pair of conference championships. The Cross County Player of the Year as a senior, Kakatolis tallied a school-record 298 kills as a senior, to go along with a .443 attack percentage.
