Getting To Know BSU's Alyssa Rio

As a sophomore for the Cardinals last season, Alyssa Rio ranked first on the team and sixth in the league with a 4.47 digs-per-game average. She recorded double-figure digs in a team-high 28 matches, while adding 20-or-more digs in 15 contests. As a freshman, Rio ranked fourth in the league and 37th nationally with a 5.58 digs-per-game average. She tallied a career-high 41 digs versus Southeast Missouri State (Aug. 25, 2007) in just her second collegiate match.
Prior to joining the BSU squad, she earned four letters in volleyball at St. Francis where she captained the Spartans to a 41-2 overall record, a sectional championship and the 2006 Illinois High School Association Class AA State Championship her senior season. She also helped the Spartans claim a pair of Illinois Class A State Championships as a freshman and sophomore. Over her four-year career, Rio helped lead St. Francis to a 149-16 record.

Best moment of your volleyball career? Winning the state title my senior year

Favorite junk food? French fries
Favorite place to visit? Puerto's
Dishes every night or after they pile up? After my dishes started to mold together from piling up, I started to clean them every night
One thing you would not want to be caught dead wearing? Andrea Felton's brown corduroys
Best thing you can find in the BSU locker room? A refrigerator conveniently next to my locker

Favorite outfit to wear? Flip flops, sweat pants and a t-shirt
