Getting To Know BSU's Charde' Phillips

As a sophomore for the Cardinals last season, Charde' Phillips played in 22 matches, racking up 111 kills and 50 total blocks. She smashed double-digit kills in five matches, including a career-high 12 kills in the win at Miami (Oct. 25). Prior to joining the Cardinals last season, Phillips earned one letter at Minnesota where she played in three matches in 2007.
During her prep career, Phillips earned four letters in volleyball at Elyria High School, where she helped lead the team to a Pioneer Conference Championship with a perfect 14-0 league record as a senior. A Division I Honorable Mention All-Ohio selection as a senior, she also guided the team to a district title. Phillips played in the Lorain County senior all-star game and was ranked 88th among the top 100 high schools seniors in 2006 according to prepvolleyball.com. She also played club volleyball for the Cleveland Volleyball Club.What is your favorite TV show? House of Payne

What made you choose Ball State? The coaching staff
Favorite stuffed animal? My stuffed rabbit
Three things you have to take with you on a road trip? Snacks, my blanket I sleep with every night and music
Best moment of your volleyball career? Getting a scholarship to play Division I volleyball
Pre-match ritual? Listening to music and visualizing my performance
The pump-you-up song? I don't just have one song, but rap pumps me up
