Softball?s Milian Earns Back-To-Back MAC Pitcher of the Week Award

MUNCIE, Ind. ? Ball State junior pitcher Elizabeth Milian (Grand Blanc, Mich.) has been named to Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week as announced by league officials Tuesday for the third time this season.
With back-to-back Pitcher of the Week awards, this is the fifth time Milian has earned the award in her career and third this season after receiving it April 7 and March 17 and also twice as a freshman. She received MAC West Player of the Week for April 1 as a sophomore last season.
Milian earned the award this week for her perfomance in helping the Cardinals improve to a 10-1 conference record with three wins this weekend. She accumulated 20 strikeouts in 23 innings pitched for a 1.22 ERA. She pitched her fourth season shutout in game one against Toledo Saturday in head coach Craig Nicholson's 800th career victory.
The junior is second in the MAC with 146 strikeouts, the most in a single-season in her career. She is currently third in the MAC with a 1.85 ERA and leads the league with seven wins and 155.1 innings pitched.
Milian and the Cardinals are back at the BSU Softball Complex 1 p.m. Friday for a double header matchup against Northern Illinois. Ball State takes on Western Michigan 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
