The Code Red Dancers program is an important facet in rounding out the entertainment portion of Ball State athletic events. We are looking for the following qualities and characteristics in individuals interested in becoming a member of the Ball State Code Red Dance Team.
The Code Red Dance Team is comprised of versatile entertainers with a professional dance style and crowd pleasing abilities. You must be able to learn both basic and complex dance movements and assimilate them into a routine with a certain style, grace, and flexibility. The Code Red Dance Team is a group of entertainers with a vast stage to project. One's show qualities must be strong, with the smile and eye contact to reach many fans. A Code Red Dance team
member is a bright, outgoing, pleasant, enthusiastic and well-rounded individual. You must be able to be a part of a disciplined unit that projects positive support toward one another, toward the coach, towards the Code Red Dance Team, Ball State University and the community.
You must be a full time Ball State University student with a G.P.A. of at least 2.0 or a high school equivalent of 2.0 if just starting first year at Ball State.
A Code Red Dance Team member must be physically fit and well-groomed. Weight/appearance is monitored and recorded periodically throughout the season. The overall look should be coordinated and neat with an image of self-assurance.
We are selecting 12 to 16 people to be on the squad. The exact number chosen is the coach's decision and will be final. You are not required to have any material prepared for the audition. The skills that are to be performed at auditions include, but are not limited to, a jazz/stylized routine, a hip-hop/funk routine, double turn, and toe touch. The routines will be taught at the audition and the double turn and toe touch will be demonstrated.
