Softball?s Milian Earns Pitcher Of The Week

MUNCIE, Ind. ? Ball State junior pitcher Elizabeth Milian (Grand Blanc, Mich.) has been named to Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week as announced by league officials Tuesday.
This is the third time Milian has earned the pitching award after receiving MAC West Player of the Week for April 1 last season. She was MAC West Pitcher of the Week twice as a freshman.
Milian earned her sixth win this season after going 3-2 this week for her performance in the USF Under Armour Showcase. In four complete games she struck out 30 batters in 34 innings of work while giving up just five walks and five earned runs for a 1.03 ERA. She has totaled 72 strikeouts on the season. Milian also notched five hits and two RBI for a .250 batting average.
In the 6-5 win against Boston, she earned eight strikeouts in eight innings on the mound. She helped the Cardinals to their seventh win against Hofstra with five strikeouts, giving up just one run. She gave up just one run in the 4-1 win over Indiana as well, earning nine strikeouts. Milian gave up no runs against East Tennessee State in four innings.
Milian and the Cardinals return to action Wednesday in their home opener at the BSU Softball Complex against Valparaiso for a double header starting at 2 p.m.
