Gymnastics Team at Eastern Michigan Sunday

Ball State's women's gymnastics team will compete at Eastern Michigan Sunday in a 4 p.m. event the Eagles are billing as "Beauty and the Beast".
The gymnastics meet (the beauty part of the title) will take place at EMU's Bowen Field House, while the Eastern Michigan wrestling teaM (the beast in the competition) will host Kent State in the same venue at the same time.
The Cardinals are 1-4 overall and 0-4 in the Mid-American Conference, while Eastern Michigan will enter the meet with a 3-3 overall record and 2-1 MAC mark.
Ball State suffered a narrow defeat 192.925 to 191.300 to the 26th ranked Northern Illinois Huskies last Sunday in BSU's Worthen Arena. The Cardinals were led by Bibiana Rodriguez-Lockwood, who tied for first on the uneven bars with a 9.775. Teresa Phipps was Ball State's top performer on the vault (9.750), floor exercise (9.775) and in the all-around (38.100). Katelyn Busacker managed the Cardinals top score on the balance beam with a 9.700.
Ball State will compete at Southeast Missouri State Thursday before returning home Feb. 22, for the final regular season home meet of the year vs. Western Michigan. The Cardinals will host the 2009 MAC Championships at Worthen Arena March 21.
