Women's Hoops Takes On Illinois State At Home Sunday

Scouting Ball State: The Cardinals enter today's game with a 3-5 record after falling 83-63 to Wisconsin-Green Bay Thursday night in Worthen Arena. Junior forward Emily Maggert earned her seventh double-double of her career and fifth of the season after leading the Cardinals with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Junior guard Ty'Ronda Benning chipped in a career best 14 points, while freshman guard Shanee' Jackson scored a personal best nine points on the night. The Cardinals outrebounded the Phoenix 36 to 20, but the Phoenix made 56 percent of their shots, including 63 percent from the three point arc.
Scouting Illinois State: The Redbirds enter today's contest with a 3-2 overall record. Illinois State has defeated UCLA, South Dakota State and fellow Mid-American Conference opponent Northern Illinois. The Redbirds lost to Iowa and Illinois. In its last game Illinois State outscored Northern Illinois 44-22 in the second half to come out on top 85-57 last Friday at Redbird Arena. Maggie Krick led all scorers with 24 points and added eight rebounds, and Ashleen Bracey chipped in with 18 points and nine rebounds. Illinois State is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. The Redbirds are coached by Robin Pingeton who is in her seventh season.
Ball State Begins Three Game Roadswing: The Cardinals will not play next week until Saturday due to final exams. Ball State will then begin a three game roadswing when it travels to Pittsburght to take on Duquesne (Dec. 19). After that the Cardinals will travel to Evansville (Dec. 22) and will then close out road play for 2009 at Butler (Dec. 30).
