Barnhart, Johnson Compete At Mideast Regional

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. ? Amanda Barnhart recorded her best long jump distance of the season, and teammate Katie Johnson recorded her fastest 100-meter hurdles time at the 2008 Mideast Regional Championships this past weekend.
Barnhart placed sixth at the meet with a leap of 20-9 3/4. With a sixth place finish, Barnhart has a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships in
Her best jump coming into the Mideast Regional came at the Mid-American Conference Championships when she took first place with a jump of 20-2 3/4.

Johnson ran her fastest 100-meter hurdle time of the season. Although she was unable to qualify for the final heat, Johnson placed 21st in an event that had nearly 40 participants clocking in at 13.61.
LSU had three runners in the top four, as Nickiesha Wilson won the 100-meter hurdles in 12.63.
