Barnhart Ends Season At NCAA Championships

Barnhart battled wet weather conditions to leap 19-6 ? in the long jump competition. The distance was not enough to qualify for the finals.
Barnhart qualified for the NCAA Championships as an at-large bid after placing sixth at the 2008 Mideast Regional Championships with a leap of 20-9 3/4. She was named to the Mideast All-Region team for placing in the top eight of her event.
Her best jump coming into the Mideast Regional came at the Mid-American Conference Championships when she took first place with a jump of 20-2 3/4.
The top twelve athletes qualified to compete for the long jump finals. Blessing Okagbare of UTEP recorded the longest distance with a jump of 21-10. The last participant to qualify was Toni Smith of
