MAC Baseball Tournament To Be Streamed Live For Free

CLEVELAND -- The Mid-American Conference, JumpTV Sports and the Chillicothe Paints have announced that every game of the 2008 MAC Baseball Tournament will be streamed live and free of charge on the official website of the Mid-American Conference (www.mac-sports.com) as part of the All-MACcess package. The tournament will take place May 21-24 and will be staged at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio. Fans of MAC baseball will still need to register for the All-MACcess service but there will be no charge to view games.
This year will mark the second time in league history that the MAC Baseball Tournament will be held at a neutral site. The only other neutral site MAC baseball championship was held in 1982 at Trautman Field in Columbus.
The tournament field will also be expanded to eight teams for the first time ever. The prior tournament field consisted of six teams in a double-elimination tournament. The new format will feature a bracket of two pools, with the winner of each double-elimination pool meeting in a one-game, winner take all championship game. The bracketing reflects the College World Series format as played in Omaha.
The tournament starts this Wednesday with No. 6 Ohio seed taking on No. 3 seed Bowling Green (9 a.m.), No. 7 seed Western Michigan vs. No. 2 seed Eastern Michigan (12:30 p.m.), No. 5 seed Ball State vs. No. 4 seed Northern Illinois (4 p.m.) and No. 8 seed Central Michigan vs. No. 1 Kent State (7:30 p.m.).
