Garofano Named MAC West Pitcher Of The Week

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Tiffany Garofano (Alamogordo, N.M./Eastern Arizona) has been named Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the week as announced by the league office April 15.
Garofano has been named MAC West Pitcher of the week three times this season. She took the award February 27, with a 1-1 record in the Panera Bread Tournament with an ERA of 2.00. She struck out 21 batters in 14 innings, including a 12 strikeout game against St. Francis.
Garofano was also named pitcher of the week on March 19, with a 2-0 showing at the USF Under Armour Tournament. She picked up wins against Long Island and Georgia Southern.
Last week Garofano went 2-1 with an ERA of 0.39. She pitched 18 innings and only allowed nine hits while striking out 23 batters.
Garofano was on the mound when BSU fell to IPFW 1-0. She threw a complete game and recorded 13 strikeouts in a losing effort.
She picked up a win at IUPUI, and at Miami OH. The win against the Redhawks improved the Ball State conference record to 5-5. Garofano threw a complete game against Miami. She limited the Redhawk offense to three hits while recording eight strikeouts.
Garofano is 9-10 on the mound for the Cardinals this season. She has the lowest ERA on the team at 2.02, and also leads the team with 130 strikeouts.
