Track Finishes Fourth At MAC Championships

The Cardinals got off to a great start in day one. BSU was tied with the defending MAC Champions, the
Day one had many preliminary rounds, yet several finals were also held.
The Cardinals dominated the long jump competition. Terri Abraham won the event with a distance of 19-08 ?. Amanda Barnhart took second place with a leap of 19-05 ?, and Lindsay Bangert placed third with a distance of 19-02 ?.
Thekla Lorenz won the pentathlon with 3,797 points. Lorenz won the long jump with a leap of 18-10 ?, and finished third in the shot put with a distance of 37-05 ?. She also placed sixth in both the 60-meter hurdles (9.0) and the high jump (5-4 ?).
The BSU distance medley relay team of Lisa Arrowsmith, Jenna Schmitmeyer, Brittany Ade and Ali Bishel posted another first place finish for the Cardinals. The team finished the race in 11:44.33.
Katie Johnson and Ra'Jae Marable each qualified for the 60-meter hurdle finals. Johnson finished fourth with a time of 8.62, while Marable placed seventh clocking in at 8.64.
Bishel won two events for the Cardinals in day two of the competition. Bishel ran a 4:53.72 mile, and then ran the 3000-meter race in 9:40.59 to earn a total of 20 points for BSU.
