DAY 3 - My Final Thoughts:
A.) Is this really what I want to do in the future?
B.) Did I give it all I could?
The answer to both of those questions is “yes.” This was an experience of a lifetime and whether I make it or not I still have work to do. Six months from now, everyone will see how much hard work and passion I have for the game of volleyball.

DAY 2 - On the Court:
Today was very challenging. The first session involved lots of drills with position work and defense. Fortunately, the middles didn't do much passing, ha-ha. But I did enjoy the chaos drill we ran. We had to just try to get a touch on every ball. My arms were so sore because the coaches hit really hard.
Honestly, I thought I did a lot better in the afternoon session. My thoughts were so congested. I was overwhelmed with players' explosiveness, and their abilities to place the ball where they wanted.
In the afternoon session, we competed a lot. I went up against 6'3, 6'4 middles that were just as athletic. But I did some good things. My mentality changed from negative to positive. I told myself just go after it, and remember to have fun.
Tomorrow morning is the final day. I'm going to leave it all on the court. Whether I make it or not, I know now I have enough heart to compete with peers with just as much talent.

Well, besides having the worst flight of my life to
The staff here has a lot of energy, and makes it a little less stressful. The girls were even nice. I got all my butterflies out when we started our triples and quad drills. I definitely saw a difference in play and intensity.
I didn't feel pressured to be perfect because everyone was messing up. Ha-ha. But tomorrow is business. Today, they allowed us time to get acquainted with the gym. I honestly think I will do well tomorrow.
Official Release:
MUNCIE, Ind. - - Alisha Green (Country Club Hills, Ill./Hillcrest H.S.), who enters her junior year as a member of the Ball State women's volleyball team in 2008 after transferring from the University of Tampa, is one of 114 athletes slated to participate in this weekend's U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team open tryouts at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
"I am excited about the opportunity to play with the gifted and talented players who are going to be at the tryouts," said Green. "It has always been my dream to be part of the national team program. It will be exciting to see how I compare with some of the players who have been in the program for several years."
The three-day tryouts, which are set for Feb. 22-24, will be used to identify prospective athletes for the U.S. National and Olympic Teams, as well as the A2 program which is planning to train in Atlanta, Ga., from approximately May 19-28, 2008.
"My goal as an athlete is to get better and play at a high level," continued Green. "I always look forward to how I can improve my game. I know I have a lot of potential, and I am excited to see how this experience will help me grow as a player."
Green, a 6-2 middle blocker, was a two-year letterwinner for the University of Tampa, where she helped guide the Spartans to the 2006 NCAA Division II National Championship and a trip to the NCAA Division II Quarterfinals in 2007. This past season, Green earned recognition on the AVCA All-America Third Team after collecting 422 kills and ranking seventh among all NCAA Division II players with a .395 attack percentage.
"This is an exciting opportunity for Alisha and her development as an athlete," said Ball State head coach Dave Boos. "This will allow her to see the next level of competition. She will be playing against young women who are as athletic and physical as she is. I look for this experience to challenge her as a player and to motivate her on her path to becoming a better athlete when she returns to Ball State."
A 2006 AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, Green is a two-time All-Sunshine State Conference honoree, earning first team accolades as a sophomore and second team status as a freshman. In just two seasons with the Spartans, Green tallied 764 kills and ranked seventh in school history with a .362 attack percentage. At the net, Green collected 206 career blocks, including 81 solo stuffs.
"Besides the volleyball, I am looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere in Colorado Springs," concluded Green. "I have heard it is a beautiful place. I am also excited about being on the Olympic campus and meeting new people."
