
Sprague and Jacob Manage Firsts vs. EMU

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's gymnastics team lost to Eastern Michigan 192.550 to 189.800 in Mid-American Conference action Friday night at Irving Gymnasium.
The Eagles improve to 5-3 on the season and 3-1 in the league. The Cardinals drop to 0-7 with a 0-5 stint in the MAC.
Sophomore Ashley Jacob (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central) set two personal high's against the Eagles. Jacob won the bars event with a top score of 9.750 and then finished with a 9.600 score on vault. On vault senior Erica Gilkerson (North Branch, Minn./North Branch) led BSU with a final score of 9.625 which was good for a share of fifth place.

George (Orlando, Fla./William R. Boone) managed a fourth place showing with a score of 9.600.
Senior Kristin Sprague (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) took first on floor with a 9.750 just shy of her career mark. Sophomore Brittney Bauer (Springfield, Mo./Glendale) and teammate George tied for third helping the Cardinals take the floor exercise over EMU with a team score of 48.225.
Ball State gymnastics will be on the road its next three competitions. BSU travels to Michigan State on Sunday, March 2. The meet is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start at Jenison Fieldhouse.
