Donate a Blanket at Tuesday's Football Game
November 19, 2008 | Football
Ball State athletics has partnered with the Rotary Club of Muncie in the "Happiness is a Warm Blanket" community service project.
This initiative provides community members in need who live in Delaware County with a warm blanket and began with a fund raiser in March that generated over $15,000.
With a donation of a new blanket to this program, individuals will receive a free general admission ticket to Tuesday's game vs. Western Michigan, valued at $10.
Ball State will be collecting donations and distributing the general admission tickets in the grass area in front of the football complex, next to Gate 4, starting at 3 p.m. on gameday.
Prior to gameday, persons interested in helping can exchange a new blanket for a ticket at the Minnetrista Cultural Center on Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In addition, people can purchase a special edition Garfield blanket for $30, which allows the Rotary to purchase three blankets for those in need. Purchasers can use the Garfield blanket or request to keep it. At the Western Michigan game, order forms are available for anyone choosing this option.
