Cross Country Ranks 5th In MAC Preseason Poll

The Ball State cross country team has been picked to finish fifth in the Mid-American Conference, as announced by the league office August 16.
Ball State is returning six letterwinners from a team who finished fifth in the MAC Championships last season.
Vanessa Gilbert and Sarah Kehe will lead the way for the young Cardinal team. Last season the team was limited to only eight runners. Of the twelve runners on this year's team ten are either sophomores or freshmen.
Last season Gilbert finished 21st at the MAC Championships with a time of 21:24.05. Most of the BSU runners finished in a pack as the last Cardinal crossed the finish line in 22:53.25.
Kehe recorded four top-ten finishes during her freshman year. She placed 33rd at the MAC Championships last season clocking in at 21:43.70.
The Cardinals will open up the 2007 season on Saturday, Sept. 8 as they travel to Bloomington, Ind.
