Four Cardinals Selected As Great Lakes League All-Stars

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Four members of the Ball State baseball team were selected to participate in Wednesday night's Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star Game. Jeremy Hazelbaker and Dean Anna participated for the Blue team, while Kyle Heyne and Adam Quinn represented the Red team.
Hazelbaker, who will be a sophomore at Ball State this fall, is playing this summer for the GLSCL's Licking County Settlers. Through 26 games, the infielder is batting .256 with one home run and 11 RBI. He has also stolen six bases.
Anna is a junior college transfer from John A. Logan College, who will join the Cardinals this fall. He is playing his summer baseball for the Columbus All-Americans and hitting .293. Another infielder, Anna has logged five doubles, seven RBI and seven stolen bases through 26 games.
Heyne, who was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the recent Major League Baseball draft, has one year of college eligibility remaining. He is playing this summer for the Grand Lake Mariners, posting a 1.50 ERA with five saves in nine appearances. The closer has struck out 15 batters in 12 innings of work.
Quinn, who will be a junior at Ball State this fall, is playing this summer for the Lima Locos. He has appeared in six games and started four with a perfect 4-0 record and a 1.86 ERA. Quinn has also notched 22 strikeouts in 29 innings.
