Lehe, Williams Named First Team All-MAC
May 16, 2007 | Track & Field
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Senior Rose Lehe and junior Amber Williams have been named first team All-MAC, while Terri Abraham received second team honors.
To be named all-conference, a student-athlete must win an event to be first All-MAC, while those who place second are named second-team All-MAC. Each student-athlete only earns one honor so if a competitor won an event and placed second in another, that person would only be a first team selection.
Rose Lehe recorded a first place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Lehe finished in 10:46.87, her fastest time of the season.
Amber Williams was named the Most Valuable Performer at the meet for her performance in the 100-meter dash, 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash, and in the 4x100 relay.
Williams set two MAC Championship records. She placed first in the 100-meter dash clocking in at 11.54. She also took first place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.32.
Williams placed second in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 23.83. The relay team of Christina Whitt, Williams, Voni Ferguson and Katie Johnson took second place in the 4x100 with a time of 45.71.
Off the track, Terri Abraham took second place in the long jump. Abraham tied her season-best jump with a distance of 19-11.50. Abraham also earned a fourth place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 39-06.50.
The Cardinals return to action May 25, to compete in the NCAA Regional Championships held at Columbia, Mo.
