Stovall Places Third At EIU Big Blue Classic

CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Lanae Stovall set a new career-high point total in the heptathlon at the EIU Big Blue Classic with 4371 total points.
In day one of the competition Lanae Stovall took second place in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 15.10. Stovall marked a personal best distance in the shot put with a throw of 36-06.25. That distance was good for second place and 604 points.
In the 200-meter dash Stovall placed third with a time of 26.78. In the final event of day one Stovall notched a fourth place finish in the high jump.
Stovall was the leader at the halfway point with a point total of 2,806. Stovall placed in the Top 3 in three of the opening four events with her largest point total coming in the 100 meter hurdles.
Stovall started day two by placing first in the long jump competition. Her mark was 17-8.25 good enough for 668 points. Stovall also set a personal best in the javelin with a distance of 91-9.
Stovall's point total after day two was 4371. She remains seventh all-time in BSU history, but her score of 4371 is a personal best, beating her old score of 4303.
The Cardinals return to action April 14 in Oxford, Ohio to compete in the Miami Invitational.
