BOISE, Idaho - The Ball State University men's tennis team (7-8) captured two victories at the Boise State Red Lions Spring Break Tournament on Thursday afternoon. The Cardinals posted a 4-3 win over Montana and then went on to defeat San Francisco, 5-2.
BSU started the day off winning the doubles point against Montana. At the No. 1 spot Jose Perdomo and Joe Epkey posted an 8-4 win over Colin Dektar and Raydner Ramos. The twosome of Aaron Phillips and Jorge Rodriguez defeated Stuart Wing and Felipe Raw by a score of 8-3 at the No. 2 flight.
Joe Epkey tallied 6-0, 6-1 wins over Dektar at No. 1 singles. BSU also posted singles victories at the No. 2 spot with Phillips defeating Wing, 6-4, 7-5 and Perdomo at No. 3 taking a 6-4, 6-1 win from Raw.
Against San Francisco the Cardinals dropped their doubles point to fall behind early in the match. BSU bounced back by posting wins at the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 flights to take the match from the Mustangs.
