Ball State Selected To Finish Third In Outdoor Preseason Poll

Muncie, Ind. -- The Ball State track and field team was selected to finish third in the 2007 Mid-American Conference Coaches' Poll.
The Cardinals will look to 2006 All-MAC selections Amber Williams, Tamelca Lewis, and Voni Ferguson to lead the team.
Lewis captured first place at the MAC Championships in the triple jump last year with a distance of 41-8 3/4. Lewis was named First Team All-MAC for her performance at the MAC Championships. Her best distance of the season was 41-10 1/2.
Ferguson set a Ball State school record in the 400-meter dash finishing in 53.68 at the MAC Championships in 2006. Ferguson took second in the 400-meter dash and received Second Team All-MAC honors.
Williams also received Second Team All-MAC honors for her performance in the 100-meter dash. Williams placed second in the MAC Championships with a time of 13.77. Williams recorded her best time at the Mike Poehlein Invitational clocking in at 11.84.
Ball State opens the outdoor track season March 31 in Toledo to compete in the Rocket Team Challenge.
