Junior Haly Calderwood and teammate freshman Sophie Quist won their first match on the year as a No. 1 doubles tandem with an 8-6 victory over Tiffani Foster and Andra Beckett. The Cardinals continued to play strong in doubles action posting wins at the NO. 2 and No. 3 spots to win the doubles point.
"It was a typical first match," said head coach Kathy Bull. "We were apprehensive to begin with but we managed strong play up and down the lineup to start the year off right.”
