The outfielder helped Akron to the Eastern League finals, where the Aeros fell to the Portland Sea Dogs in five games. Four days later, Snyder was placed on the Indians' 40-man roster.
In 2003, Snyder became Ball State's sixth first round draft choice when he was selected 18th overall by Cleveland in the Major League Baseball draft.
During his three seasons at Ball State, Snyder compiled a .378 batting average with 36 home runs and 150 RBI in 168 games. He holds Cardinal records for career on-base percentage at .470 and doubles in a season with 25 in 2003.
A first team Freshman All-America selection in 2001, Snyder went on to earn MAC Player of the Year and first team All-America honors in 2003.
Snyder joined former Ball State player Larry Bigbie in the major leagues. Bigbie is currently on the disabled list with the St. louis Cardinals.
