WLBC-Radio (FM 104.1) is entering its 51st season as the "Voice of the Cardinals", and will continue as the school's flagship station and air all Ball State football and men's basketball games again this year.
"The addition of an Indianapolis and Fort Wayne radio station is a great opportunity for Ball State football fans," Ball State athletics director Tom Collins says. "We are excited for the fans and alumni in those cities who will be able to listen to all the games this season. It is important for Ball State University to get the word out on our outstanding athletic program, and this helps create that excitement and broaden our listening audience. This was a venture done in great partnership with Nelligan Sports Marketing and the folks at Backyard Broadcasting."
The Cardinals will open the 2006 football season with an Aug. 31, Thursday night home game vs. Eastern Michigan. Ball State will host Indiana University Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m., play at Purdue Sept. 16, and then host North Dakota State Sept. 23 at 6:30 p.m., and Northern Illinois Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m.
