Cardinals Finish Off Central Michigan

KENT, Ohio - Jay Broughton picked up the final two outs against Central Michigan as Ball State completed a 12-5 victory and advanced in the winner's bracket of the Mid-American Conference Tournament.
After being suspended by weather Thursday with one out in the ninth inning, the game resumed at 10 a.m. Friday.
The Cardinals are now playing Kent State for the right to advance to Saturday's championship game. The loser will play again at 4 p.m. in an elimination game.
Broughton faced three batters, walking one and inducing a fielder's choice and a ground out to end it.
Ball State had overcome a 3-0 deficit Thursday with three runs in the fourth inning, three in the sixth on a Kyle Dygert home run and six in the seventh, including a Chris Pestle grand slam.
With the win, Ball State improves its record to 35-20, while Central Michigan falls to 35-22 and drops into the loser's bracket to face Miami at 1 p.m. in an elimination game.
