Track Completes Day One at MAC Championship

Scully recorded a time of 35:28.24 winning the event for the second-straight year. Earlier this season, Scully set the school record in the 10,000 with a time of 33:54.66. The time automatically qualified the senior for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship held June 7-10 in Sacramento, Calif.
Senior Jennifer McCoy and freshman Lanae Stovall began competition in the heptathlon. McCoy posted a first-place finish in the shot put (43-07), a second-place finish in the 200 dash (25.73, a third-place finish in the 100 hurdles (14.17) and tied for sixth place in the high jump (4-10 1/2). McCoy's score of 43-07 in the shot put is a BSU-best this season.
Stovall recorded a third-place finish in the shot put (33-09 1/4), two fourth-place finishes in the 200 dash (25.87) and 100 hurdles (14.71) and a tenth-place finish in the high jump (4-09 1/2).
McCoy added the tenth-best mark in the javelin throw with a score of 116-05.
Rounding out finishers on day one were senior Tiffany Notarfrancisco and junior Cara Collins. Collins placed 15th in the hammer throw (149-10), while Notarfrancisco followed close behind with 24th-place honors (132-06).
The Cardinals continue their quest for a MAC title tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m. at the University of Toledo.
