Softball Falls 3-1 at Eastern Michigan

The Cardinals got on the score board early when Allie Pennock walked with bases loaded in the top of the second to plate Taylor Yancey, giving Ball State a 1-0 advantage. Katie Pilger and Sarah McGregor each had singles in the inning.
Eastern Michigan went on top with a pair of runs in the fourth and then added an insurance run in the sixth on the way to the 3-1 final score. The Eagles posted a 7-5 advantage in hits. Besides Pilger and McGregor, Cortney Patteson, Amanda Pick and Yancey had hits for the Cardinals. Patteson's and Pick's hits were two-baggers.
Pick took the pitching loss, dropping to 6-10 on the season. She went the distance and struck out six batters in defeat.
BSU, 12-26 overall and 5-12 in the MAC, and EMU meet Sunday in a single game beginning at 1 p.m.
