The Cardinals totaled 23 hits -- led by seniors C.J. Webb (Mascoutah, Ill./Mascoutah) and Mike Sullivan (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) with four each -- while Miami posted 17 of its own.
Webb, who went 4-for-6 on the day and scored two runs, drove in a career-high seven RBI with three coming on his first home run of the year over the left centerfield wall in the bottom of the fourth inning. Senior Chris Pestle (Lafayette, Ind./McCutcheon) and junior Eric Earnhart (Urbana, Ohio/Urbana) also notched homers in the eight-run fourth.
After singling to left field and being moved to second base on senior Brad Miller's (Muncie, Ind./Central) single up the middle, Sullivan scored the eventual game-winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning on a double by Webb.
Sullivan finished the day 4-for-6 with two runs and two RBI, while Miller went 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI, redshirt-sophomore Justin Rogers (St. Paris, Ohio/Graham) went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Earnhart landed two RBI on his jack over the left field wall.
The RedHawks' Jordan Petraitis went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and one RBI, followed by Jon Franzese, Brandon Hillier and Ryan Bennett each with two RBI.
Redshirt-sophomore pitcher Ben Snyder (Bellevue, Ohio/Bellevue) (3-2) totaled 124 pitches in 6.1 innings on the mound, surrendering 10 hits, seven earned runs and two walks, while notching five strikeouts for the win.
Miami's Keith Weiser (2-3) suffered the loss after going four innings and giving up 12 hits, 10 earned runs and two walks, while striking out two batters.
The Cardinals host Miami for 1 p.m. game times Saturday and Sunday at Ball Diamond.
