Gymnastics Finishes Fourth at Missouri Cat Classic

COLUMBIA, Mo. ? The Ball State women's gymnastics team placed fourth at 26^th Annual Cat Classic held in Columbia, Mo. The Cardinals scored a season-best 187.900 points, while ninth-ranked Missouri won the meet with 196.025 points.

Senior Jenna Tarkington was the top finisher for BSU winning the vault with a season-high score of 9.875.

Sophomore Erica Gilkerson placed third in the all-around competition with a score of 37.775. Her personal-best score of 9.750 on vault placed seventh. The sophomore also posted scores of 9.025 on bars, 9.625 on beam and 9.375 on floor.

Junior Lauren West placed close behind Gilkerson finishing fourth in the all-around with a score of 37.400. West finished with a 9.150 on vault, 9.100 on bars, 9.650 on beam and 9.500 on floor.

Sophomore Kristine Sprague added a top-10 finish placing 10^th on bars with a mark of 9.625.

Overall, BSU recorded scores of 48.425 on vault, 45.950 on bars, 46.675 on beam and 46.850 on floor.

The Cardinals will finish competition at the Cat Classic Saturday with individual event finals beginning at 7 p.m.
