Softball Opener Cancelled Due to Weather

Ball State's season-opening softball event at the Tennessee-Martin Hospitality House Classic has been cancelled due to inclement weather and an unfavorable forecast for the weekend. The eight-team tournament was slated for Saturday and Sunday.

The Cardinals' 2006 campaign will now be launched with a three-team double round robin tournament Feb. 25-26 at Evansville. Besides BSU and UE, Mississippi will round out the field. Competition begins with Ball State versus Ole Miss Feb. 25 at 11 a.m.
