Gymnastics Finishes Third at Northern Illinois

Gilkerson tallied scores of 9.600 on vault, 9.325 on bars, 9.600 on beam and 9.675 on floor. Placing fourth in the all-around was junior Kelly Watson with a score of 37.975. Watson tallied a score of 9.725 on floor good for second-place honors, while tieing for fourth on bars (9.650) and sixth on vault (9.675). On the beam, Watson placed 16th with a score of 8.925.
Junior Jenna Tarkington posted the team's top score on vault (9.725) placing fifth and tallied a 9.700 on floor tieing for fourth place. Sophomore Brittany George tied for fourth with a career-best mark of 9.620 on bars.
The team captured scores of 46.675 on vault, 47.000 on bars, 45.875 on beam and 48.225 on floor.
The Cardinals (0-3 overall, 0-1 MAC) continue the 2006 campaign when they host Eastern Michigan Friday at 7 p.m. in Irving Gym.
