John E. Worthen Arena became the home of the Ball State women's volleyball team in 1992 The Cardinals hosted Tennessee on Sept. 4 in their first match in the new surroundings and posted a 15-11, 15-10, 15-8 victory.
Last season, Ball State posted a record in the arena of 17-1. That boosted the university's record to 96-15 in its new domain. The overall record includes a 70-4 record against teams from the Mid-American Conference.
The 11,500-seat arena is part of BSU's Health and Physical Activity Complex, which includes the men's and women's athletics offices, weight rooms, training rooms, press facilities, recruiting rooms, the ticket office and the Alumni Lounge. It was built at a cost of approximately $29.4 million.
