Duncan was a member of the football team from 1984 through 1987 and lettered in each of his four seasons. Duncan, who played in 43 of 44 games in his career before signing a free agent contract with the National Football League’s Houston Oilers, was a three-time GTE Academic All-American. He was one of only nine student-athletes in history to receive the Academic All-America award three straight seasons. Duncan, who caught 18 passes for 164 yards with two touchdowns as a senior, graduated with a 3.9 grade-point average on BSU’s 4.0 scale. He was an All-MAC First-Team choice as a junior and senior plus received honorable mention on The Associated Press All-America Team in 1987. After completing his undergraduate degree, he attended medical school on an NCAA Postgraduate scholarship and is a medical doctor.
