- Class:
- 1947
Linson was a member of the BSU administration from 1955 until his retirement in 1987, upon which he was given the title of Emeritus Vice President for University Relations and Professor of Educational Administration and Supervision. A 1947 graduate of Ball State, Linson earned a master’s from BSU in 1948 and his doctorate of education from the University of Denver in 1957. His biggest contribution to Ball State intercollegiate athletics came in 1960 when Linson helped establish the Cardinal Varsity Club. The CVC is a donor organization for athletics and enables the school’s intercollegiate athletic teams the opportunity to purchase needed equipment, pay for necessary travel or use privately donated dollars for other vital expenses. Linson began at Ball State as the director of alumni relations in 1955 and remained in that role until 1980, when he was named vice president at BSU.
